Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has fired Perry Clark after the former Tulane and Miami coach went 10-21 in his fourth season with the Islanders.
Athletic director Tim Fitzpatrick said Monday that success in men's basketball is "critically important" to the athletic program at A&M-Corpus Christi.
Clark was 54-71 with the Islanders after spending three years as a television analyst before he was hired. He replaced Ronnie Arrow, who started the program in 1999 and led the Islanders to the NCAA tournament in 2007 before leaving.
Clark was fired at Miami in 2004 after going 25-33 in the two seasons after he took the Hurricanes to the NCAA tournament. He made three NCAA appearances at Tulane.
Clark is 304-270 over 19 seasons.
