Journalists have been detained by police while covering Occupy Wall Street protests in New York.
Associated Press writer Karen Matthews was taken into custody Tuesday along with AP photographer Seth Wenig (WEH-nig) and Daily News reporter Matthew Lysiak.
When they were detained, they were covering protests at a property in lower Manhattan hours after police cleared a park of the main Occupy encampment.
Wall Street Journal reporter Alison Fox saw Matthews and Lysiak being placed in handcuffs. Another AP reporter later saw Matthews and Wenig being removed in a police van.
Freelance radio journalist Julie Walker says she was arrested on disorderly conduct.
Police didn't have a count of how many journalists were arrested and didn't immediately comment.
Two journalists were briefly detained Sunday during an Occupy raid in Chapel Hill, N.C.
