Julianne Hough Wears Blackface For Halloween

Don't celebrities pay people to advise them against this sort of thing? Actress and dancer Julianne Hough has come under fire for dressing in blackface at a Halloween party last night. The 25-year-old Dancing With the Stars regular was dressed as the character Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren from the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, completing the look by covering her face in dark makeup, Entertainment Weekly reports. After photos of her costume prompted an outpouring of outrage on Twitter, the star tweeted the following apology:

• "I am a huge fan of the show Orange is the New black, actress Uzo Aduba, and the character she has created. It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize."
