It was one of those rare, long-lasting Hollywood marriages: Artist Jo Andres, who was married to actor Steve Buscemi for more than 30 years, has died at age 65, reports People. The cause of death has not been revealed. The couple was photographed together at a movie event as recently as July 2018. Though her husband had much greater fame, Andres was an acclaimed artist in her own right as a filmmaker and choreographer, among other things. Her 1996 short film, Black Kites, won raves at several film festivals.

Andres had been a fixture of the performance artist scene in New York City in the 1980s, notes the AV Club. She "specialized in a field she identified as film/dance/light, layering images and movies over troupes of dancers to create ethereal spaces in a number of NYC venues (and beyond)," per the website's obituary. The couple married in 1987 and have a son together, Lucian, born in 1990. (More Steve Buscemi stories.)
