Karl Rove has apparently heard his master's voice and flip-flopped on his support for anti-masturbation candidate Christine O'Donnell. He now endorses the Delaware candidate without hesitation, even though he was very concerned just two days ago about her "nutty" ideas, iffy character, tax dodging, and misrepresentations. Rove apparently saw the light when Sarah Palin chided Rove on Fox to "buck up" and get with the new party program.
Rove claims he's had no change of heart, and that he supported O'Donnell the minute she won the Republican Senate primary. His harsh criticism of the candidate who has never held elected office was merely part of his role as an impartial Fox analyst, he insisted yesterday. "I call them as i see them" as a Fox analyst, he explained, though conceded—even as a Fox analyst—that O'Donnell has "got to make up ground quick" if she's to win in November. He said after the primary that "this is not a race we're going to be able to win." For earlier Rove coverage, click here.
