A New Jersey restaurateur who celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay warned was likely to see his business "swim down the Hudson" was found dead in the same river after leaping from the George Washington bridge. Joe Cerniglia's debt-ridden Italian restaurant was featured in a 2007 episode of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.
"I was fortunate to spend time with Joe during the first season of Kitchen Nightmares," Ramsay said in a statement yesterday. "Joe was a brilliant chef, and our thoughts go out to his family, friends and staff." The chef is the second person from a Ramsay show to commit suicide, notes ABC News. Contestant Rachel Brown shot herself a year after appearing in Hell's Kitchen. (More suicide stories.)
