Cindy McCain OK With 'Don't Ask' After All

Well this is confusing. Cindy McCain made headlines this week for appearing in anti-bullying ad in which she criticized "political leaders" for telling gay teens "they can't serve our country openly." It was seen as a clear indictment of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, which a certain senator from Arizona is trying to keep in place. Last night, though, Cindy McCain issued a tweet with a seemingly conflicted message, notes the Huffington Post.

"I fully support the NOH8 campaign and all it stands for and am proud to be a part of it," reads the tweet. "But I stand by my husband's stance on DADT." Which seems a wee bit contradictory, though John McCain pledged a few years ago to support repeal if the Pentagon approved, and a soon-to-be-released military review suggests it will.
