Pot-stirring billionaire Warren Buffett is complaining that the "rich never had it so good," and again demanded that politicians make the wealthy pay their fair share to the public coffers. "People at the high end—people like myself—should be paying a lot more in taxes," he told Christiane Amanpour on ABC's This Week. "We have it better than we've ever had it." The interview was part of Buffett's recent drumbeat against saving George Bush's tax cuts for the rich. He conceded that most of the wealthy will fight to keep the break, and will argue that it's good for the country.
"The rich are always going to say that, you know, just give us more money and we'll go out and spend more and then it will all trickle down to the rest of you. But that has not worked the last 10 years, and I hope the American public is catching on," Buffett explained. President Obama announced last week that he'll award Buffett with the President Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor granted by the White House; click here for more.
