John Boehner, widely mocked for choking up during his victory speech last month, turned on the waterworks again during a 60 Minutes interview, leaving pundits, and the ladies of The View, wondering whether the incoming speaker of the House is compassionate—or just a crybaby. "A sensitive side isn't what the country wants to see in a strong leader," Republican strategist Ed Rollins tells ABC News. "He's got to show strength and leadership and a willingness to stand up to the president. You never saw Pelosi crying."
On The View, all but one of the co-hosts poked fun at Boehner's tears, the Huffington Post notes. "This guy has an emotional problem," Barbara Walters said. "Every time he talks about anything that's not 'raise taxes,' he cries." After Joy Behar labeled Boehner the "Weeper of The House," and accused him of lacking empathy, Elisabeth Hasselbeck sprang to his defense. "Let's not crucify a man for getting emotional," she said. "He's probably a fine man who cares."
