(AP Photo/Jason DeCrow) Far-right blogger and Internet radio host Hal Turner has been sentenced to 33 months for writing on his web stie that three federal judges who upheld Chicago's handgun ban "deserve to be killed." Turner—who posted photographs, phone numbers and work addresses for the judges—was convicted of threatening the judges after two earlier trials ended in hung juries, the Christian Science Monitor reports. "The criminal justice system simply could not function if an individual’s efforts to intimidate a judge through threats of violence were protected from prosecution and punishment,” said the US attorney in Chicago. “We live in a system where judges should be able to do their jobs and not have to look over their shoulders." Turner—a white supremacist and former FBI snitch—will be barred from broadcasting for 3 years after his release. (More Hal Turner stories.) Report an error
