Cancel that heebie-jeebie alert in Boston: A 3-foot boa that went missing on a subway train 6 weeks ago has finally been found and returned to her happy owner, reports WHDH-TV. The snake, named Penelope, turned up in the same set of cars where she first slithered away from her owner. A passenger spotted her yesterday, and a train attendant—who happened to be a snake owner herself—finally rounded her up.

Two notable quotes turned up by the Boston Globe:

  • "You can't make this stuff up," from a transit police lieutenant.
  • "I’ll probably pay a little bit more attention,’’ from Penelope's owner, after declaring she plans to continue bringing her pet on public transportation. (She had been wearing Penelope around her neck, but under a scarf, when the great escape occurred.)
