Another female boxer has allegedly been shot by someone close to her. Rola El-Halabi, an undefeated female boxer from Germany, was struck at close range in her dressing room before a fight Friday night—by her stepdad, reports the AP. The 25-year-old suffered injuries to her hand, knee, and feet that aren't life-threatening, but could imperil her career. El-Halabi's 44-year-old stepfather, who had been her manager until January, reportedly also shot two security guards before he was arrested, say Berlin police.

"Papa rushed into the room," El-Halabi told a German newspaper. "He threatened us with a gun in his hand and shouted 'Everyone out!' And then he shot me in the hand from three meters. I cried and screamed." She also spoke of their relationship, "When I had problems I could talk with him about anything, except when it was about boys. That was taboo." El-Halabi won the WIBF and WIBA world titles in 2009. She has an 11-0 record with six knockouts. (Click for the story of boxer Christy Martin, who was attacked by her husband.)
