(AP Photo/Richard Drew, file) The morning show intrigue continues: On the heels of a report that Meredith Vieira will be leaving the Today show comes another that says co-host Matt Lauer is on his way out, too. An anonymous insider tells Entertainment Tonight that Lauer won't renew his contract in December, and ET raises the inevitable speculation that he'll rejoin Katie Couric—who's leaving CBS News—in her next venture. Both the Vieira and Lauer reports are based on anonymous sources, and NBC isn't saying much: "There seems to be an awful lot of speculation around news anchors these days, and it's not our practice to comment on any of it," says a network statement. "Matt Lauer has a long-term contract with NBC News and Today." Read These Next Hundreds are suing a Virginia hospital, alleging unneeded surgeries.
