Jon Stewart was predictably befuddled by the way Weinergate unraveled as he watched his old roommate get "Kanyed" by Andrew Breitbart at his own press conference yesterday, before finally coming clean and admitting the crotch shot in question was, yes, of Weiner's own crotch. "This is the weirdest f***ing story I've ever seen in my life! Or the greatest episode of Maury ever," noted Stewart last night.
As he looked at the original photo and the one Breitbart released yesterday purportedly of Weiner's bare torso, Stewart mused, "The most upsetting thing about having a friend caught up in a scandal of this nature is finding out, (a), he's packing jumbo heat, and (b), that he's ripped." But when he saw how emotional Weiner became as he admitted his misdeeds, Stewart looked beyond his own feelings. "You know, we forget sometimes that these people are human. And that's a lesson that's gonna stay with me," he said. "Until I turn back to the camera over there and do a little bit on the John Edwards story." (More Anthony Weiner photos stories.)
