Lesson learned from the Vancouver riots: It pays to make out in the middle of the street. At least that’s the case for Scott Jones and Alexandra Thomas, the couple who made their name by doing so. (Jones says he gave Thomas a kiss to comfort her after she fell.) Now, the two have hired a big-name Australian PR firm to help them sort through media and endorsement requests—as well as possible gigs for stand-up comic Jones, reports the Toronto Star. “Overseas people know more about that photo than the Stanley Cup,” says a rep for the firm.
Jones “could use this as a way of breaking through for a standup comedy career,’’ says the spokesman for Markson Sparks. “It could set him up for life, if he’s as good as Robin Williams or Bill Cosby.” Not to mention the “obvious commercial opportunity." The "most romantic couple,” as the rep puts it, could score big off jewelry endorsements. They could rake in $10,000 for an appearance, he says, while an endorsement “might be worth 100,000 to them.” He’s already gotten them a meeting with Tony Blair. (More Vancouver stories.)
