14-Year-Old Convicted of 4 Beheadings in Mexico

A US-born teenage hitman has been sentenced to three years in a Mexican prison—the maximum sentence possible for one of his tender age. Edgar Jimenez Lugo, who was known as “El Ponchis” (“the Cloak”), has admitted to beheading four men, but says he did so under coercion. “I felt bad doing it,” he was once quoted as saying, according to the BBC. Drug gang leaders "said they would kill me if I didn't do it. I only beheaded them, but never hung [bodies] from bridges, never."

Prosecutors called 43 witnesses in the trial, but Jimenez’s defense called none, according to CNN. A court spokesman says he “was calm, relaxed and serious,” never interrupting the proceedings. (More El Ponchis stories.)
