COP Hauling DARE Trailer Charged With DUI

An Indiana cop who preaches to kids about the dangers of driving under the influence of booze and drugs has himself been charged with DUI, reports Kentucky's WAVE TV. Need more irony? He was hauling a DARE trailer when his pickup truck sideswiped a parked car and slammed into a tree. John Newcomb was not injured, but his role as mentor for seven area schools might be. "He's not setting a good example for kids that see this," says a resident near the crash. (More DARE stories.)
