Furious Tea Partiers are demanding that President Obama call Teamsters union boss James Hoffa to heel after he urged workers at a Labor Day rally to "take out" party members. "They've got a war. We're going to win that war," Hoffa said in Detroit before Obama's appearance. "President Obama, this is your army ... Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let’s take these son of a bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong." The chairwoman of the Tea Party Express characterized Hoffa's words as "dangerous" and a "call for violence on peaceful Tea Party" members.
"We have called on President Obama to condemn this inappropriate and uncivil rhetoric, which has no place in the public forum," added Amy Kremer. A Teamsters spokeswoman responded: "Workers didn't start this war—the right-wing Tea Party zealots did. Jim Hoffa's comments today reflect the anger of workers under attack in this country." The White House is declining to comment, notes AP. (More James P. Hoffa stories.)
