An eerie coda to the sad story of Mikey Welsh, who was found dead in a Chicago hotel room Saturday: The former Weezer bassist had predicted his own death on Twitter. In a message posted Sept. 26, he wrote, “dreamt i died in chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). need to write my will today.” He later posted a follow-up reading, “correction: the weekend after next.”
Welsh, who was in Chicago to see a Weezer show, had also alluded to an early death on Facebook, the Sun notes. Referring to a piece of his artwork he was selling for $250, he wrote, “If I am stil alive at time of purchase, price to increase exponentially if I expire prematurely.” Welsh became an artist after suffering a nervous breakdown and leaving Weezer.
