An antidote to all those Craigslist-is-the-devil's-little-helper stories (like this): A 28-year-old woman in Florida desperate for a new kidney posted the request on the site, reports the Palm Beach Post. After a flurry of media attention, Selina Hodge ended up with more than 800 responses, including one from 23-year-old Stephanie Grant. Doctors transplanted one of Grant's kidneys into Hodge on Tuesday, and both women are now recuperating.

“It just amazes me that somebody would actually lay down their life for a complete stranger,” says Hodge’s mother. Explains Grant: “I had a gut instinct when I saw the request for a donor on television. I had to get involved.” The two women still haven't spoken. Click for more. (More Craigslist stories.)
