A restaurant worker who tried to foil an armed robbery at a Los Angeles meat market is clinging to life after being shot in the head. After a cashier at the market fled to the restaurant next door, two workers confronted the robber. One dodged a bullet and stabbed the robber in the neck as he continued to fire, hitting the other good Samaritan, NBC 4 reports.
The two restaurant workers had successfully stopped a robbery at the same store five years ago. Cops arrested the alleged shooter, who was on parole, and two accomplices after he went to hospital seeking treatment for his neck injury. All three are being charged with murder because the shooting victim, a father of four, is not expected to survive. "God needs to send him an angel so he can be better because he is doing bad right now," says his 10-year-old daughter. (More robbery stories.)
