Welcome to the lamestream media, Sarah Palin. She's going to be co-hosting NBC's Today show tomorrow morning, reports Mediabistro. Palin will go head-to-head with arch-nemesis Katie Couric, who's filling in this week on ABC's Good Morning America, and who's responsible for one of the former vice-presidential candidate's most embarrassing campaign moments. Palin, who later slammed Couric for "gotcha journalism," was unable to come up with the name of a single newspaper when Couric asked her what she reads.
Palin, who once did a stint as a sports anchor in Alaska and talks politics on Fox News, will have the Wisconsin primary to discuss tomorrow. Some find it hard to believe that Palin is taking the co-helm if even for a day. Panelists on one program speculated that it could just be an April Fool's joke. But the Washington Post calls the strategy the Today show's "Katie Couric Counter-Programming Campaign." Good Morning America has been nipping at Today's ratings heels. One media observer predicts that Couric "should attract more viewers than Palin," reports the New York Daily News. (More politics stories.)
