A gruesome scene in Prometheus proved too much for one teenage boy in Australia, who suffered a seizure and was rushed to hospital, Australia's News Network reports. Spoiler alert: The scene involves Noomi Rapace performing an emergency caesarean section on herself to pull out a squirming alien. The sci-fi thriller, rated R in the US, received an M rating in Australia after lobbying by Fox—meaning young people can see the film without an accompanying adult.
Such movie-house collapses have happened before. One audience member vomited and two fainted in 2010 during screenings of the James Franco nail-biter, 127 Hours. And people passed out during the John Travolta-Uma Thurman adrenaline shot scene in Pulp Fiction, as filmmaker Joseph Sims points out: "There's a famous story where Quentin Tarantino was at a New York theater presenting the film and someone had a seizure during that scene."
