The Los Angeles Times gets the annual who-will-host-the-Oscars speculation off to an early start by dropping Jimmy Fallon's name in the mix. The paper says the academy "is in talks" with Fallon for the 2013 show and also wants Lorne Michaels as producer. One potential snag: Host network ABC is reluctant to give NBC's Fallon such a plum gig, especially since he's in a tight ratings race with ABC's own Jimmy Kimmel. Another caveat: The academy president whose term ended this week said that while he did indeed go after an unnamed producer, he wasn't able to secure the deal. Stay tuned. If all else fails, Billy Crystal can come to the rescue again. (More Jimmy Fallon stories.)
