Iran has made it clear that American military vessels aren't welcome near its waters, but eight of its citizens must have been pretty glad to see the USS James E. Williams last night. The destroyer saved 10 people, including eight Iranians, from a burning Iranian-flagged ship, reports ABC. The rescued sailors are receiving medical treatment and will soon be sent home, the Navy says. Such rescues are fairly routine for US vessels in Middle Eastern waters. Earlier this year, the US won some praise from Iran after rescuing 13 Iranians from a fishing boat that had been seized by pirates. (More Navy stories.)
