Last month, anti-Obama author and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza shared a room with his fiancee at a Christian conference; the event was to feature "high-profile Christians" who would "speak on defending the faith and applying a Christian worldview to their lives." Thing is, D'Souza already has a wife—he's been married for 20 years, notes Sarah Posner at Religion Dispatches. And while he told a "distressed" conference organizer he'd filed for divorce, he didn't actually do so until after the conference, evangelical magazine WORLD finds.
D'Souza, the man behind 2016: Obama's America, is president of the evangelical King's College; now, the board is looking into his marital situation. D'Souza has reportedly texted a WORLD reporter to say the engagement is "suspended." "Will this spell the end of D’Souza’s star?" wonders Posner. "Perhaps, or perhaps he will, as many of the heterosexual fallen do, find redemption." (More Dinesh D'Souza stories.)
