Last year Black Friday became Black Midnight. This year, Walmart is instituting Black Thanksgiving Dessert Hour. That's right: The store's doors will open at 8pm on Thanksgiving, a full two hours earlier than they opened last year, reports the Wall Street Journal. And in a bid to ensure bargain-hunters show up (and perhaps prevent riots), it's offering a guarantee on three items between 10pm and 11pm: Shop during that hour, and you'll be able to buy these three items (or get a raincheck if they're sold out):

  • iPad 2 with WiFi for $399 plus a $74 Walmart gift card
  • Emerson 32-inch LCD TV for $148 (normally $228)
  • LG Blu-ray Disc player for $38 (a nearly 50% savings)
