What's embarrassing for a Denver ABC affiliate is delightfully entertaining for the rest of us: On the 5pm news yesterday, ABC Denver aired a picture of Paula Broadwell's biography of David Petraeus, All In. Just one problem: The editor who pulled the image off the Web accidentally grabbed a photoshopped version of the book cover, so the title appears to be All Up In My Snatch. John Aravosis didn't believe it when a reader first tipped him off, he writes at AmericaBlog. But it didn't take long for the station itself to admit the error.
"It was a regrettable and an embarrassing error," says the news director, adding that the station "corrected the story to avoid any recurrence of its broadcast" and is "following up internally." Aravosis isn't convinced the doctored image actually came off the Internet, since he couldn't find it anywhere—"which makes me think someone was being cute in the graphics department of the station, and then made a job-killing mistake," he writes. On his site, Jim Romenesko notes that the error, surprisingly, hasn't brought higher traffic to the station's website. (More Paula Broadwell stories.)
