McCain Courts Yuppie Donors

John McCain, the man who wants to be the oldest president ever, is hoping his fundraisers can skew a bit younger. McCain 2008 is actively recruiting young professionals to gather cash from their  Blackberry-wielding friends, making up in enthusiasm what they lack in their bankbooks.

The effort is dubbed YP4McCain, borrowing the semantics of text messaging. A May 23rd event in DC will be the blueprint for a series of relatively modest $100,000 fundraisers around the country tailored to a 25- to 45-year-old crowd. No word on whether McCain will cultivate the rockstar image with a repeat performance of "Bomb Bomb Iran." (More John McCain stories.)
