It must be tough to be Pippa Middleton: Your sister is basically a princess, currently carrying the future king or queen of England in her beloved womb, while you're stuck ... writing for a supermarket's in-house magazine. Yes, party planner Pippa, whose book bombed, has a new gig writing a column for Waitrose Kitchen, the mag put out by Waitrose (a grocery store that, Tom Sykes informs us in the Daily Beast, is "Britain's poshest"). The first "Pippa's Friday Night Feasts" column appears in the April issue, out next month.
Sykes guesses the palace is less than pleased with the idea. Turns out Pippa was barred from promoting her aforementioned book, as well as forced to turn down a job offer from NBC, by the palace; at this point she's "virtually unemployable," Sykes writes. Twitter satire account Pippa Tips is already having fun with Middleton's new gig, posting, "Supermarkets do not wear capes and rescue people, but they are good places to buy groceries and pick up helpful magazines."
