Give him this: Michael Adebolajo knows how to make a scene. The man accused of hacking a British soldier to death in the streets of London appeared in court today, where he asked that he instead be called Mujahid Abu Hamza, repeatedly interrupted proceedings, and at one point blew a kiss to a man in the gallery, and appeared to mouth "I love you" to him, Reuters reports. Both men then pointed to the sky, according to the AP.

When asked to stand, Adebolajo asked, "May I ask why?" though he did comply. He was dressed entirely in white, with his left arm wrapped in bandages, and held what looked like a Koran. When the 5-minute hearing ended, he pressed the book dramatically to his lips, while throwing his bandaged arm in the air. "I would like to alleviate the pain if I may," he said before being led away. (More Michael Adeboloja stories.)
