Today's lesson in anger management, from a Detroit golf course: When one member of a foursome announced his score after a particular hole, one of his golfing buddies thought he was lying. The 56-year-old broke his 5-iron over the alleged fibber's arm, then used the broken shaft to stab the 65-year-old's arm, police tell MyFox Detroit. The other two golfers pulled off the attacker and held him down, allowing the victim to hightail it to the clubhouse in a golf cart. But then the attacker got free and started chasing in his own golf cart, yelling that he was "going to get him" all the while, reports the Detroit Free Press.
That never happened, luckily. The 56-year-old left the course in his car, and police later jailed him on suspicion of felonious assault. The victim needed stitches but is otherwise OK. “It was a crazy day," says the manager of the Westwynd course in Oakland County. "I’ve worked at a golf course for 12 years and nothing like this ever happened.” (More golf stories.)
