Rashard Lewis hit the game-winning shot as time expired to give the Orlando Magic a 102-100 victory over the Detroit Pistons. Orlando had dropped nine straight contests to Detroit, including a four-game sweep in the first round of last year’s playoffs. The Magic’s Hedo Turkoglu led all scorers with 26 points; he also tallied eight assists, reports the Associated Press.

The game appeared to be heading to overtime when Chauncey Billups sank a 32-foot three-pointer with only three seconds remaining to tie the score at 100, but Lewis’ jumper ended the game. Rip Hamilton had 21 points to lead the Pistons, who have suddenly lost four of their last five games. Dwight Howard had 23 points and eight rebounds for Orlando. (More NBA stories.)
