Apple's latest product experimentation may offer a window into the future of the iPhone and iPad. The company has ordered prototype phone and tablet screens that are a little bigger than what we're used to, its suppliers tell the Wall Street Journal. The iPhone 5 has a four-inch screen diagonally; the prototypes are larger, though the Journal doesn't specify by how much. Meanwhile, Apple is calling for sample iPad screens of just less than 13 inches, compared to the current 9.7 inches. The Journal cautions that Apple often toys with alterations that never make it to shelves. Still, "the company's 'one size fits all' philosophy seems set for a larger overhaul," writes Lorraine Luk.
