Chris Christie hit four of the five major talk shows today, squarely tackling that whole elephant-in-the-room controversy thusly: "Who cares, I mean, seriously. I'm on the cover of Time magazine, you know?" he said on Fox News Sunday, as per Politico. "It is certainly not the first weight joke that has been thrown my way over the course of the last four years." Given the sheer number of appearances, he had plenty more to say. Some of the highlights:
- On how he won over female and minority voters: "The lesson is to govern and to show up, and let me explain what I mean. On governing, it's about doing things, accomplishing things, reaching across the aisle and crafting accomplishments. And ... you can't just show up six months before an election into groups that have not normally voted for you and expect that they are going to vote for you. I've been working on this for four years."
