Lamar Alexander put his chief of staff on leave today, after police raided his Washington, DC, home in search of child porn. The GOP senator from Tennessee issued a brief statement saying he was "just informed" that police were searching Ryan Loskarn's residence. "I am stunned, surprised, and disappointed by what I have learned," he wrote. "The office is fully cooperating with the investigation."
Loskarn has a long history with Alexander, though he only took the chief of staff job in 2012, Politico reports. He has also worked for and with Jon Kyl, Marsha Blackburn, and Wally Herger, as well as the House Rules Committee as a whole. (More Lamar Alexander stories.)
