A 62-year-old woman in San Francisco wanted to get to Hawaii so badly that she managed to slip through security and actually get aboard a plane on Feb. 15, reports CBS San Franscisco. Trouble is, the person who actually paid for the seat then showed up. Authorities escorted Marilyn Jean Hartman off the plane and told her to leave the airport. She did, but returned three days later to try again, only to be foiled at security. Again, authorities let her go, and again she returned, two days later, armed with a bogus boarding pass. This time, she got arrested and spent eight days in jail on commercial burglary charges, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
Hartman "indicated she has cancer and simply wanted to go somewhere warm,” says the local DA. “It’s unknown if this was another of her lies.” (More weird crimes stories.)
