A pair of CNN producers quietly tried to make their way into the World Trade Center site in New York yesterday afternoon—but they were caught in the act. Yon Pomrenze, 35, and Connor Boals, 26, were trying to test the security of the area, the New York Post reports. Their efforts follow reports that a teen reached the top of 1 World Trade Center; during their first attempt to enter, they told police that "if a 16-year-old could get on the site, they should be able to get in," an official says.

The men, who were carrying cameras, were halted while trying to climb a fence and finally arrested after attempting to shove their way through a gate. According to a CNN statement, the two were assigned to a "story about the recent incidents at the WTC and other sites—the notion that daredevils are being drawn to them." They weren't, however, asked to try to enter, the network says, per the New York Times. Another group recently admitted parachuting off the country's tallest building. (More CNN stories.)
