According to Las Vegas casino magnate Steve Wynn, George Clooney recently got drunk off tequila shots at a dinner they both attended in Sin City and ended up in a foul-mouthed rant about politics that ended with Clooney storming off. According to Clooney, Wynn started the whole thing, and it was more about Wynn's character than politics. The incident, which happened two weeks ago, was reported in the Las Vegas Review-Journal earlier this week but is just now getting picked up by Page Six and other outlets. The two versions of the story:

  • Wynn's version: An intoxicated Clooney first "threw a hissy fit" after another dinner guest told a joke about Mikhail Gorbachev. Then the actor started talking about ObamaCare. "That’s when I spoke up. He didn’t like that either. I think my discussion about the Affordable Care Act was the straw that broke the camel’s back," Wynn says. "When he’s drinking, he considers himself a close personal buddy of the president. He got up and said, 'I don’t have to listen to this (expletive) stuff,'" then left.
  • Clooney's version: "There were nine people at that table ... so you can ask them. ... Steve likes to go on rants. He called the president an a--hole ... that is a fact. ... I said the president was my longtime friend and then he said, 'Your friend is an a--hole.' ... At that point, I told Steve that HE was an a--hole and I wasn’t going to sit at his table while he was being such a jacka--. And I walked out. There were obviously quite a few more adjectives and adverbs used by both of us."
