No. 23 St. Mary's used 59% shooting from the field and balanced scoring attack of six players in double figures to blow out host Pepperdine, 100-64, in West Coast Conference action Monday. Diamon Simpson had 13 points, 13 rebounds and Patrick Mills had 18 points for the conference-leading Gaels, who hit a school record 17 3-pointers, reports the Associated Press.
St. Mary's, now 23-3 overall, took it to the Waves early and often with a 19-2 first-half run and built a 30-point lead at halftime. Malcolm Thomas was one of the few bright spots for Pepperdine with 11 points and 11 rebounds. St. Mary's hit the century mark for the first time since 2004, ironically against Pepperdine both times.
