Celebrity / Oprah Winfrey Here Are Oprah Winfrey's 'Favorite Things' of the Year And no, you probably can't afford many of them By Evann Gastaldo, Newser Staff Posted Nov 5, 2014 10:27 AM CST Copied In this Sept. 5, 2014 photo released by Harpo, Inc., Oprah Winfrey speaks in Atlanta, the first stop of an eight-city US tour of "Oprah's The Life You Want Weekend." (AP Photo/Harpo Inc., George Burns) A $265 set of body products, a $700 pair of headphones, a $189 box of flowers: These are a few of Oprah Winfrey's favorite things. The talk show queen has released her Favorite Things list for 2014, and as usual, it features quite a few products most of us can only aspire to own. Some of our faves: Golden Beats by Dr. Dre: The gold version of the popular headphones, plus a gold speaker, is available for the low, low price of $700 at Neiman Marcus. Ginger Beauty and Wellness Collection: Apparently "pink Fijian ginger" is a very expensive commodity, because it's the main ingredient in this $265 set of three products—a powder, a body soak, and a body scrub. But you can get 10% off with code OPRAH! Deluxe Vine and Bloom Box: It's a box of flowers and vines that costs $189. We're not sure how else to put it, so we'll let Oprah explain: "Arrange the petals in water-filled bowls for a dramatic look, and place the vines in a vase for a scent that lasts long after the blooms have gone." Eyewear Case: We all probably have a ton of designer glasses and nowhere appropriately fashionable to keep them, so this $250 lacquered box seems pretty essential. Lurin Long Pajama Set: Why lounge around the house in your sweatpants and a ratty T-shirt when you can lounge around the house in $155 "menswear-inspired" PJs made of "extra-soft jersey"? Complete Holiday Candle Collection: If you can't imagine paying $240 for a set of four candles, consider this: They have a 90-hour burn time and Oprah has them "all over [her] house"! Cushy Dog Beds: Cushy's right: These things cost anywhere from $445 to $710, which seems like a lot for something your (obviously purebred) puppy is probably going to destroy. Charlie V-Neck: The good news is that, considering a set of three will only run you $218, these come out to be cheaper than Gwyneth's $90 white T-shirt. Nail Color Set: If you thought perhaps Oprah might recommend, say, a $6 bottle of nail polish, you were obviously wrong. But the $144 price tag on this set of nine polishes is perhaps justified by the fact that they're vegan, cruelty-free, and devoid of major toxins? 365 Gathered Truths Box: Oprah says it best: "Here's a boxful of gathered truths printed on beautiful handmade paper. I like to read as many as I can while I'm waiting five minutes for my chai to steep. If you get only one of my Favorite Things this year, I'd want this to be it." The good news is it's a relative bargain at $85. A book ... by Oprah: If you can't afford anything else on the list, consider Winfrey's own What I Know for Sure, which will run you just $25. (Or $18.62 if you buy it on Amazon.) Click for the complete list, which, to be fair, does include slightly more affordable gifts like $36 pens, $10 headbands, and $20 plates you can buy at Target.
