Dolores O'Riordan, lead singer of popular '90s band The Cranberries, has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a female flight attendant during an overnight flight from New York to Ireland's Shannon Airport ... and then allegedly headbutting the police officer who tried to arrest her, TMZ reports. The 43-year-old, who lives in Dublin, was removed from the plane shortly after it landed around 5:30 this morning, the Guardian reports. The airline staffer received a leg or foot injury, while the police officer was not seriously injured.
Witnesses tell the Irish Independent that O'Riordan was "shouting" and "disruptive" about 20 minutes before the plane landed; as it was taxiing to the terminal, the singer allegedly got up and wouldn't return to her seat when asked. That's the point at which she allegedly stomped on the flight attendant's foot; she's also accused of spitting in the police officer's face after the headbutt. (More arrest stories.)
