The US ambassador in South Korea was injured today by an assailant wielding a razor, reports CNN. The injuries to Mark Lippert were not life-threatening. He was reportedly sliced on the face and hand, and authorities say that a suspect is in custody. The 42-year-old was about to deliver a speech when the attack occurred amid shouts of "South and North Korea should be reunified," according to a report by YTN TV cited by the AP. Lippert, who became ambassador last year, was taken to the hospital for treatment. (More South Korea stories.)
