A man sought on a felony arrest warrant used a motor home to unsuccessfully escape Alaska State Troopers. Troopers say 49-year-old Eligah Christian was taken into custody Friday after mashing the bulky vehicle into several patrol cars. Earlier Friday, an officer spotted Christian driving a 2014 motor home near Wasilla. He was being sought on a $100,000 warrant on charges of scheming to defraud, 15 counts of theft, and 21 counts of issuing bad checks.
The officer turned on the patrol car lights and siren, but Christian failed to stop and started driving recklessly. Troopers deployed spike strips to stop the motorhome, but the vehicle struck patrol cars as the suspect tried turning around. Christian was charged with felony reckless driving and criminal mischief. He remained jailed today. (More weird crimes stories.)
