A lot of doctors aren't happy about Dr. Mehmet Oz's dubious recommendations on TV, but he was a credit to his profession at the scene of a car crash on Saturday night. Westampton Emergency Services Chief Jason Carty says the celebrity doctor was driving north on the New Jersey Turnpike when he saw a car crash into the median behind him and stopped to run back and help the victims, the Burlington County Times reports.
Carty says that when firefighters and EMTs arrived, they found that Oz had already triaged both injured motorists and had stabilized the spine of one of them. "He gave a very thorough report on both victim's conditions and injuries," the chief tells NJ.com. "He could've kept going, but being the guy he is, he stopped and rendered aid." Neither victim was seriously injured, the chief says. (More Mehmet Oz stories.)
