In what will probably be a greater blow to defenders of the Confederate flag than opponents, the Ku Klux Klan has received permission to hold a rally in support of the flag at the SC State House. Officials, who say any group can hold a rally if the State House grounds are available, have confirmed that the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan will hold a rally on July 18, the News & Observer reports. The Pelham, NC-based group's website calls for supporters to "say no to cultural genocide" and to "tell this Marxist government they better not dare to dishonor our ancestors graves." Most "white people are to [sic] cowardly to stand up for their heritage," the website says.

The group's "Great Titan" tells Politico that the rally is to protest "the Confederate flag being took down for all the wrong reasons." But while the group says the rally is about heritage, its "Grand Dragon" makes it pretty clear to the Post and Courier that he's also in favor of murdering black people. Dylann Roof "was heading in the right direction; wrong target," the KKK official says. "He should have actually aimed at the African-American gang-bangers, the ones who are selling the drugs to white youth, the ones who are robbing and raping every chance they get." The group's answering machine describes Roof as a "warrior," the Post and Courier notes. (NASCAR says it's going to do its best "to disassociate ourselves with that flag.")
