In a move that a blogger at the Huffington Post calls "the worst idea we've heard all year," a Halloween retailer plans to sell Caitlyn Jenner costumes this year. In fact, Spirit Halloween is practically gushing about the idea to the Daily News: “Of course!” says its PR chief. “Caitlyn Jenner has proven to be the most important real-life superhero of the year, and Spirit Halloween is proud to carry the costume that celebrates her.” The chain runs "pop-up" costume stores that surface around New York City.
The company rep confirms to HuffPo and says that Jenner will be among the "celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes" upon which it bases its costumes. A member of the National Center for Transgender Equality finds it hard to fathom. "There's no tasteful way to 'celebrate' Caitlyn Jenner or respect transgender people this way on the one night of the year when people use their most twisted imaginations to pretend to be villains and monsters." Jenner's rep had no comment, maybe because Jenner has more important things to worry about. (More Caitlyn Jenner stories.)
