A newly released email about Hillary Clinton is making headlines, though it's not because of a security breach. In it, top aide Huma Abedin tells another aide that Clinton is "easily confused." The full exchange from 2013, as obtained by conservative group Judicial Watch:
- Abedin to staffer Monica Hanley: "Have you been going over calls with her for tomorrow? So she knows [Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh] is at 8?"
- Hanley: "She was in bed for a nap by the time I heard that she had an 8am call. Will go over with her."
- Abedin: "Very imp to do that. She's often confused."
The Hill says the comment, which came from Abedin's email address on Clinton's private server, is likely to become campaign fodder. While it wasn't classified, Judicial Watch says it and others reveal too many details about Clinton's itinerary at the time and thus posed a security risk. But the site also seems pretty happy about the "confused" line. "Huma Abedin's description of Hillary Clinton as 'easily confused' tells you all you need to know why it took a federal lawsuit to get these government emails from Clinton's illegal email server," says group president Tom Fitton. The Hot Air blog notes that Clinton had suffered a concussion about a month before that January 2013 email. (More Hillary Clinton stories.)
