Thomas Vanek and Jochen Hecht each scored two goals during the Sabres’ remarkable final period, which featured two goals within 16 seconds and a four-goal, 8-minute stretch, according to the Associated Press. Jason Pominville had two goals and two assists, Derek Roy recorded a goal and two assists, and Drew Stafford assisted on three tallies for the Sabres. The win pulls Buffalo within a point of the Philadelphia Flyers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
