A 19-year-old faces charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property over a sweet treat. Daniel Schlagler's lawyer says his client was in line to pay for a doughnut at a 7-Eleven on Staten Island on Tuesday when he bit into it and discovered it was stale, per DNA Info. He was willing to pay for his Big Gulp, but not his stale doughnut, and soon the police were called. "This is a totally bogus arrest," the lawyer says. "They should have apologized and given him a fresh doughnut." (This fugitive's downfall: a police doughnut contest.)
